Which Clinton Endorsement Is Genuine?

No, I’m not talking about Hillary Clinton. I was surprised at how powerful her endorsement of Barack Obama was. After the obvious hard feelings, and total slap in the face hand delivered by Barack Obama, I expected less of an endorsement than the powerful and seemingly sincere speech she gave at the Democratic National Convention. I think that it shows that Hillary may be a much bigger person than a lot of us have given her credit for. Bill, on the other hand, is far better at carrying a grudge. For what, you ask?

When the phone rings at 3 am… It’s a text message from Barack Obama. Let me make this clear. Obama  claims that this wasn’t a slap in Hillary’s face. If it truly wasn’t (which I highly doubt) then the explanation is far worse for him. His campaign has suggested that the reason the message went out at 3 am is because people had already been talking about it for hours, and they didn’t want to renege on their promise to let the people know as soon as they knew. The claim is they originally intended to send it out at 7 or 8 am. This means the official stance of the Obama Campaign is that they had made a promise that they never intended to keep (imagine that) but they wanted to trick us into thinking they had kept the promise (big surprise) so when it became apparent that they had broken the promise (caught red handed) they decided to send the message immediately. Is it any wonder this guy is trailing in the latest polls?

Most people are aware of the “3 AM” campaign ad that Hillary ran. If you’re not, be prepared to be, because McCain and his staff are running it again. So are we to believe it is merely coincidence that the text message went out at 3 am to announce that Hillary was not his choice? I’m not buying it. I do, however, see the irony in the fact that Obama would rather say he lied to his supporters, got caught, then tried to trick them into thinking he hadn’t, and in so doing inadvertently appeared to take a shot at Mrs. Clinton than to just ignore the issue or come clean. I would personally rather be viewed as arrogant than dishonest. Barack obviously prefers the opposite. Style over substance, anyone?

And this leads us to Bill Clinton’s endorsement. He did what the party expected of him. He gave a strong speech last night, telling his supporters to rally around Obama. It was almost convincing. To those who didn’t hear what he had to say the night before, it may have been. But on Tuesday night, the former President said the following.

“‘Suppose you’re a voter, and you’ve got candidate X and candidate Y. Candidate X agrees with you on everything, but you don’t think that candidate can deliver on anything at all. Candidate Y you agree with on about half the issues, but he can deliver. Which candidate are you going to vote for?’

No need to read between the lines there. I still have my official “Bill Clinton Secret Decoder Ring” , but I didn’t have to break it out for that one. So while Clinton endorsed Obama in his speech last night, one is left to wonder which endorsement will carry more weight with his fans. The one for Barack last night, or the one for John McCain the night before.

I actually thought that Hillary sounded disingenuous. I did however like her move at the roll call. Now that was priceless. Bill’s speech “sounded” genuine and was a great speech but I had heard about his comments that day before and they sounded pretty foul to me.

    • In an effort to spruce up the site a bit, I have designed a new logo for the site, incorporating our new slogan "Your world, my spin". Adding beauty and glamor to the logo is the image of Kaly, a lovely young lady from the great state of Arizona.

Kaly graciously allowed me to use her image in the logo, and it would not be complete without it. I am very grateful to her for this, and would like to use this opportunity to thank her from the bottom of my heart. While her physical beauty can clearly be seen, her inner beauty is equally as visible to those who get to know her. It is an honor and privilege to have her image representing The Axis of Stevil.
